So, take a look today and you can use our Hex calculator to make what is often a dreary process a whole lot easier to go through with.
What is Hex?
Hex stands for Hexadecimal and is a major part of number systems today. In concept, Hex numbers will work almost identically to a standard binary or decimal system. However, instead of using a base number of 10 or 2, this uses a base number of 16. So, you will have a combination of 16 digits made up using numbers from 0 to 9. However, it also changes things up by using letters as well, with letters A-F turning up in Hex number systems as well. These represent the numbers 10 to 15., if you are interested!
Every Hex digit that appears represents a set of 4 digits in binary, known as nibbles, and makes the mass-counting of large binary numbers a much easier process than it might first appear. This allows for binary numbers, which can look quite daunting to a non-expert, a little easier to write with and to grasp in terms of their sheer quantity. Now, instead of reading hundreds of binary numbers, you could read a far smaller number of Hex numbers to reach the same end result.
This also allows for easy conversion and compression from one method to the next, ensuring that you can quickly and easily make calculations come together. What, though, if you need to change from binary to Hex? Then you can use our Hex calculator!
How do I use the Hex calculator?
To use the calculator above, all that you need to do is work out what the numbers would be in Hex form. So, for example, Hex number 2AA would be the binary value of 1010101010. Therefore, you just need to work out what the Hex value would be; since each Hex digital is representative of 4 different digits in binary, Hex sums will always be much smaller than compared to their binary equivalent.
Simply take the Hex number that you have and introduce value A into one column, and value B into another. Our system can then quickly and easily manage the calculation for you, giving you a multiplication, subtraction, division, or addition of the two sums together. You will then be given a much easier way to work out what you are doing.
On top of that, you will also find that you can quickly come up with quicker calculations for larger numbers of binary that you might not have normally decided to try and calculate. Whether you use this to make things quicker or easier, you will find that using our Hex calculator is a wise choice for anyone trying to speed things up and make the most of their time and investment.
