Backlinks are links that are returned by search engines when you include a link in your website content. Backlinks can be from the website you own, or from another website that you link to on your website. A backlink is an Excellent source of traffic for your website, as it indicates that someone has found your content valuable and thought you would be a good resource for them.
What are the different types of backlinks?
Backlinks are links that point to your website. They’re great because they show up in search engine results and increase the credibility of your site. The more backlinks you have, the higher your website is likely to be ranked on the search engines.
There are three types of backlinks: Indexed Backlinks, Noindexed Backlinks, and Nofollow Backlinks.
Indexed Backlinks are links that appear in the index for a particular keyword. They’re considered “natural” links because they contain no specific instructions from you about what pages should be linked to from your website. Because of this, indexed backlinks help improve your rankings on search engines like Google and Yahoo!
Noindexed Backlink means there is no link between your site and the page you want indexed with that keyword. These types of links are useful for controlling how much traffic goes to certain pages on your website.
Nofollow backlink means that when someone follows a link from one of your pages and then clicks on it, they will not be directed to the targeted target page; instead, they’ll see an explanation box outlining why they should click through to another page on your site.
What does search engine optimization mean?
Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine’s unpaid results – often referred to as “natural,” “organic,” or “earned” results. Search engines display organic search results in response to organic keywords- and links submitted by websites they deem relevant. Search engines also determine a website’s ranking in their own paid (“sponsored”) listings.
What is the difference between SEO and SEM?
SEO is the process of optimizing or “improving” your website in order to rank well in search engines, like Google.
SEM is also referred to as Search Engine Marketing, which usually refers to paid advertisements that are shown on search engine results pages (SERPs).
In general, SEO will be a more manual process than SEM, where paid ads on SERP’s allow for a more automated and quicker method.
The key difference between the two is that SEO is done by humans, while SEM is done by computers.
